Others could smash a 5th of yukon jack to the face and juggle swords on their nose while they eat a taco. So the question shouldn't really be how much do you drink, but how quickly can you metabolize what you drink. |

User ID: 79660464 United States 09/14/2021 08:20 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I'd like to ask a question. Why do people become Alcoholics? Do they have a gene in their body's and somehow it gets turned on and says "START DRINKING!!" or do you like the taste of the liquor? I can understand someone liking the taste of liquor and they drink it for the rest of their lives, but to get hammered each and every day makes me scratch my head. Could someone give me insight as to why a person become an alcoholic. Thanks. |

I'm a big fan of stout and dry toast for breakfast. I prefer beer to coffee, tea, juice etc. But I have learned to not have another 3 for lunch etc. It's the '2 beer buzz' that I find enjoyable, not getting hammered. SO you can keep the 2 beer buzz by imbibing every hour and a half or so. Hope this helps answer (partially) your query. |

So you like the taste of a beer more so than the taste of a cup of tea? Would that be the same as liking a Pepsi more than the taste of a Coke? For me, I hate the taste of beer. Cannot stand it, but I like the taste of a Coke, Pepsi, Shasta or any other type of cola. To me it is just odd that someone would like the taste of a beer more than the sugary goodness of a Coke. I guess that's why God made differences in taste buds. But does that likeability go towards hard liquor? Or do individuals like only beer OR liquor? I've read on this thread where some guys like both, in excess. Why cannot those folks just be happy with a 12 pack of Coke? Can they not turn off the beer taster for a while? Sorry for the long list of questions, but for the longest time I've been interested in what makes folks drink copious amounts of beer/liquor. |

I like a small dessert once a week or so, but sugar and I just don't get along. I also enjoy the taste(s) of wine. I'll have a coke now and then (monthly), but normally with rum! But hard alcohol is rare. More so now that I drink 1/4 of what I did last time this year. |

Ah, as you prefer a 12 cola buzz, your sugar rush, I prefer a 2 beer buzz. The thing is i know what I am looking for. You have no clue how sugar is influencing you. I like beer in a descending order...Stout/Porter, Pilsner (can't find real pilsner really), Lightly hopped IPA's (not the new overly hopped BS) then the lighter beers in that order. [imgur] [link to imgur.com (secure)] [imgur] [link to imgur.com (secure)] Nada to see there...move on, move on. Europeans used beer (weak beer/small beer) and wine (weak wine mixed with vinegar) to get by with water which would kill the weak. In China they never drank water that wasn't boiled for tea. Sugar comes along (newbie on the block) and then people got fat and diabetic. I prefer old skool drinks. |
