You can't run medicine for profit and our whole system has to be redone.

There is so much price gouging from the bottom to the top.

Tort reform needs to happen asap but it can't because our country is run by lawyers.

The liability insurance on hospitals and doctors is insane. I know really good doctors who have quit their specialties over the cost of insurance.

Doctors are going to make mistakes and can't be afraid to practice. The best athletes in the whole world make mistakes in every game.

You actually have that backwards.
The same is happening in the UK, and people are FLEEING
the 'universal healthcare' hospitals.

Long NHS waiting lists fuel return to profit at healthcare
firm Spire
Spire Healthcare, Britain’s second-largest private
hospital operator, has returned to profit after a surge in
patients choosing to pay for hip and knee operations, as
the NHS waiting lists for non-urgent surgeries reached
unprecedented levels during the pandemic.

Either way, there is no such thing as (significant)
hospitals that are not-for-profit as the nurses and
doctors will not be working for free. (As well as a lot of
other means of profit taking.)

Listen, I worked in both England's NHS government hospitals and America's Government-Corporate hospitals.

They are all run the same way, totally for profit, and it is the government in both countries (deep state controlled) calling the shots.

They want to cram as many patients in with as few resources as possible. They don't want to spend money on nurse and doctor and staff numbers. They have been capping down allowed clinician numbers on duty for years and killing patients by overstretching the staff. They get away with it, because patients will see the clinician as incompetent or neglectful.

Modern patient are so sick and complicated that they need almost a one to one, ongoing care. In England, they were cramming 30 patients into one ward with one overwhelmed nurse. Here it is 9 patients per nurse. No RN can do her job thoroughly or correctly or spend any time on basic care in these conditions.

They have been cutting down allowed nurse numbers for years to cull money back to the deep state. Conditions have been so brutal and horrific over the last 10 years (as this has been an ongoing thing). It gets worse every year.

Conditions are so brutal for frontline RNs that they don't stay long. We hired 80 nurses in 2018 and within 3 months all but 4 ran away screaming from healthcare. They were replaced with 50. Then the allowed ratios go from 7 patients to nurse (impossible) to 9 patients per nurse (horror show of death and suffering). And then more quit, and the system replaces just under the number who left.

That is your nursing shortage. Capped staffing numbers that make conditions so brutal everyone leaves.

And abusive patients and families.

None of you have any concept of what an RN is, or what it means to be sharing a nurse with other patients. Your expectation level for care is something that would be akin to having your own one to one nurse. When you don't get that you are going to lash out at a lone nurse responsible for multiple critical patients and juggling too many things rather than lash out at management for short staffing the place. And you are probably going to kill one of her sicker patients by distracting her, while you are all pissed off about not getting what you think you need when you want; and it is going to be over something stupid.

All management has to do is throw a few minimum wage workers on the unit who cannot and do not help with anything and when visitors and patients see them lounging around they think they are "nurses". Then they don't understand what is going on.

It is a horror how. Nurse has total liability and accountability and every night is 9 patients per nurse no help. No response from management to our cries from help. 14 hours without food and water, aware that patients are going to get hurt and killed because I cannot be 8 patients at once, the whole system breaking down, broken equipment, lack of med access, failing lab..........and add pissed off abusive patients and families on top.

It got totally unsafe about 5 years ago.
