Texas woman uses rifle to shoot, kill alleged 'Peeping Tom' caught peering into bedroom window

To shoot somebody in Texas on your property they must be coming through the window or door.

It must be after sunset or before sunrise and they have to be stealing something.


Peeping Tom is not a justifiable murder crime.

What if it had been a down syndrome kid in the neighborhood just acting socially awkward?



You should not shoot someone unless they are coming into your house or have made their intentions clear outside your house.

I agree it's really stupid and I would definitely draw my gun if inside the house. I am also not putting down eliminated perverts.


What I am saying is, you really don't want to kill someone legally unless you can prove they are an immediate threat. You also don't want to live with killing some down syndrome kid.


We had this down syndrome kid that would wander the neighborhood. He was totally harmless but would wander into peoples yards and stuff.

If someone like that had gotten lost at night on a walk or something, I would not want to live with having lit his ass up through a wall.

Now if they smash the window or are trying to gain entry, that is a different story. Once they are trying to forcefully gain entry, light em up, but I think this had not escalated to an use of deadly force justification.

Trespassing must be posted in Texas and fear for life on another side of the wall won't satisfy a jury. She should have waited. She already had the gun in hand.

It probably will end up being a weirdo, and I like seeing the weirdos get it too.


I am just saying that shooting someone at 11 pm through a wall who is outside is a bad idea. Unless they are smashing the side of your house with an ax, there is no way to know who you are killing.


It could be your neighbor's buddy playing a prank and he got the wrong house. You don't know.

That's a tough one... delivery drivers usually walk around back when they don't get an answer at the door to see if there's a side door to knock on.

If the driver went to the wrong house...

Not saying that's what happened here but you can't just go shooting people from inside your home because you feel "threatened"...

If they are carrying a weapon, or acting in a hostile manner, that's different.

Around here in Pa, we're armed to the teeth... but we get a lot of deliveries.

We couldn't run a pizza shop if people were getting shot dead for looking around the side because no one would sign up for that shit.
