What if it had been a down syndrome kid in the neighborhood just acting socially awkward?
You should not shoot someone unless they are coming into your house or have made their intentions clear outside your house.

Ask any pizza delivery driver how many times they've been around the side of the wrong house late at night with a flashlight. I say this as someone that has way more guns than any human being needs in a lifetime. Fear for life and limb is a fairly high standard.
