I know it was a dangerous situation. That's why I suggested sitting inside with her rifle, ready to shoot in case of an attempted break-in. Then it would be justified.

But you can't just shoot someone because you're scared and he or she might be a bad person. At least I think not. It's not my legal opinion that matters, it's more of a prediction on how this will go.

I am not in any fantasy world. Some situations are dangerous. You have to sit in them and minimize your risks or take calculated risks, but sometimes there's no way or no legal way to eliminate all the risks because they cause far too much risk to others.

Like in case this was a guy who wanted to see some T&A. That's a creep but not a threat to life.

If you are in TX and on your property and your safety or person is being threatened, yes, you can, and she did. She will have to live with that decision, but if she felt her life was in danger, that she was in danger, she was within her rights to defend her person. But for HIS actions, he would still be alive.

How do you know he was the person you describe? What do you believe she was experiencing in her home on her property at 11P when a trespassing man peers through her bedroom window? Give that a little thought.

Finally, one does not "sit in" a dangerous or life threatening situation and contemplate risks as if you are making an employment decision or purchasing a new home. Your physiology kicks in and you must make immediate decisions to protect yourself and save your life.

It's clear you've never had these experiences, and I hope you never do, but I recommend preparing now both psychologically/mentally and tactically so you'll be in a better position to respond should you be faced with a survival decision.

Cheers!
