There is a lot that could have been going on that was not conveyed in the short article.

Like was he a peeping Tom or a guy getting ready to conduct a hit job and shoot her through the window?

Or was he one of a team of guys getting ready to launch a home invasion?

It said she had eyes on him through the window, and for whatever reason shot through the wall. I assume shooting from the hip while still eyes on the target? That might at least dismiss the wreckless endangerment aspect if she could see the person she was shooting at. Shooting from the hip can be very accurate with a little practice.

Did he have a history of break ins or sex crimes?
Was there a history of guys breaking in, raping and then killing women in the area?

I could probably get her off. ;)
