(1) His last joke says it all: how can he say he would shoot his own son to save his life while excusing it away as: "he's never been on tv"??

(2) And we are supposed to look up to these dudes?

(3) A coke addled 68 yr old who jokes about killing someone he "loves"

(4) No wonder we are being oppressed by evil to this extent

(5) We deserve no better than a scamdemic

I would say:

(1) He was a comedian. This was a comedic bit. If you know Norm at all, you would know he loved his family and God above all else. If you can't take that joke, that is your prerogative. But it was a joke

(2) No. That's entirely on you.

(3) His comedy was rooted in saying things that make the audience feel uncomfortable. At his best he didn't even need a punchline. His "set ups" were, in effect, the punchline because they made people draw their own conclusions, causing congnitive dissonance, causing laughter.

(4) Agree, largely. Norm however was not the problem; he was a social critic to a degree we may never see again. For those who have studied his body of work, it is more than clear Norm was the antidote to many of the problems with the world. Namely by illustrating problems, making fun of them, and helping us come to terms with them through laughter. His was a gift from the gods, in my opinion

(5) Not funny, but possibly true
