That joke in context is actually really funny and deep, a made up story to fool the other comedian and at the end he at once highlights how awful the crime is and how ridiculously small we make important things - while shocking the friend and being incredibly, if not a little darkly funny.

he was really bright, really ironic. i dont think bikers may have the same level of logic and irony or at least not develop it at parties.
