Yeah those cops were very fortunate that the shooters gun was either empty, jammed or whatever it was that resulted in him using it as a bludgeon weapon. I still can't figure out how he got around behind them without either knowing. But then again in the heat of trying to stay alive in a shootout I'm sure lots of crazy shit happens! End of the day at least they got to go home.
