While that plays a part, most of what influenced Milley was his political orientation. He obviously leans mainly to the left, not right.

Although he may not be a flaming liberal, he's also not a staunch conservative either.

When he expressed regret for having walked with President Trump across the street on a night of BLM rioting in order to show contempt for vandalism done to historic St Mark's church, that spoke volumes.

When Milley said in front of a Congressional hearing that he was alarmed by so-called "White rage" and indicated a sympathy for CRT, BLM and GLBTized leftism, that spoke volumes too.

Milley is a US-hating liberal, which explains why he probably is more resentful of a President Donald Trump and red MAGA caps than he is of President Xi Jinping and red CCP China flags.
