Re: Have you lived before?
We occupy this earth at the same time, yet for some, they are able to recount details of a past life. Many of us have collective amnesia, but interestingly enough, are able to discern it is in fact a case of amnesia and this experience is not "new." Rather it is if our memories were somehow taken from us.

Discuss- I need more data.

 Quoting: MAGNUS 74

Try to imagine that knowledge, where our memories reside, is like an Infinite and Eternal Sea available for each of us to draw from.

Now imagine that each lifetime is like a bucket that is used to draw from that Sea our lifetime's knowledge which becomes part of our current lifetime's memories. Each lifetime we have, we are only ever able to go and draw one bucket full. At the end of each lifetime, the bucket is emptied back into the Infinite and Eternal Sea of Knowledge. The memories are still there but have returned to the Sea of knowledge from which they have come and to which they return.

Given the above example, it may be that there is a residual leftover in the bucket when our new life starts. Hence we may have glimpses of a previous life's memories. Also, as the bucket is only finite in its capacity to hold, you will never be able to draw beyond its capacity to hold even though you have access to the entire Sea of Eternal and Infinite knowledge!

The above is meant as a thought experiment and not meant to be true or perfect. I am sure that this idea probably has many holes but it's s starting point!

If I did I must have been a worse dictator than Stalin or Hitler to deserve this life.

Sometimes people set themselves up for a really tough life because they want to advance quickly in the spiritual sense. You learn more from adversity than from happiness - at least in a spiritual sense. The wisest people are usually the ones who've gone through the toughest times. It may not make you feel better now, but whatever you've experienced will be of great credit to you in the next world.

Doesn’t it bother you that the person you are now will stop existing when you reincarnate as someone else?
 Quoting: 936432979

IMHO we are a collection of our memories. Someday when they are restored, I think we will be made whole again. But it does not matter the time period, we are unique and are basically always the same person.

Picture youself at an event in your past (engagement, marriage, giving birth, party etc) ...

Yes thats right you are viewing yourself outside of yourself, all that we do is recorded and we will answer to the good/bad at the end.

Thank god they are aging and will be called to the rotfest to answer in the near future.

There was that Tom cruise movie...of course I can’t remember the name of it, but he would die and start the day over. I swear we live our life, die, and start the same life over. We are trying to learn something, what it is I have no idea, perhaps how to be better souls?
Certainly I have no fear of death, being around dying people and their bedside visitors has convinced me... there is something beyond this life.

Re: Have you lived before?
i came here for advice on the topic when the memories were driving me nuts..
it helped

of course people told me to get stuffed etc..

but the REAL folk on GLP gave me good advice.
in particular..

"the bits that come through NOW are worth focusing on.. they hold clues to issues that you need to acknowledge and resolve." (paraphrase)

this topic is not for everyone i agree.

my posting history here is spotty at best, i am no hero..

God bless you all

edited for link to the post in question... i was an AC but you blessed me nonetheless..

For myself, having lived many, fascinating spiritual lives as anything and everything including a rock (just for the satisfaction; by request; of experiencing the simulated existence of such as it is, like a God, to be the living stone foundation that supports your own creation, or just sit around slowly enduring the weight and pull of time and gravity, erosion, abrasion, and the slow crumbling, cracking, deterioration of it,s physical form, as a necessity for all things, to have the spirit placed in, around, and permeate, coursing through the fibers and structures of everything Inc. Clouds a gas and space dust, to bring it all to life, man. But for all it's worth, the entire rigamorole was not of permanent lasting duration, nor a total transfer, so-to-speak, as I yet, before, during and after all transformations, am the same flesh and blood being as always in my naturally birthed human body, mind, soul, in the same life as a person on Earth, as it began for me being born a male human child, and all else came afterwards regardless of time space continue chronological progression, the Devil in the details, making it really hard to kill both myself and whatever being I possess reside as in spirit, as I would revert, and alternate, also lift, carry, pull, reset and work it out in my own way according to the multitude of logical reasons it all must take place.

Oh, and my son remembered being a thief in a big city. And my daughter had a real phobia of water when she was very young, she said she has drowned in the past. She also kept chanting "the ship is sinking" when she was like 2. That was just before we went for a cruise, that was creepy as fuck.

I knew GLP was FULL of witches and pagans
and perverts and atheists, and Christians
were a MINORITY, but I didn't know it was
THIS bad.

Considering that MOST people are LOST and
will happily remain that way, and the PATH
to LIFE (Jesus) is NARROW, and FEW will go
to HIM for forgiveness and salvation,

I shouldn't be surprised.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 78185923

Honestly it's people like you who drive people away from Jesus in droves. This nasty attitude is why Christianity is failing. Rigid fundamentalists on one side and lukewarm Christians who see church as a social justice club on the other.

There is evidence of reincarnation in the Bible, like when Jesus asked what the blind man did before he was born to become blind.

Re: Have you lived before?
I can remember several past lives - quite a few in fact. I've used hypnosis and other techniques for many years. When I was a teenager I would dream of other lives and dream of things I could not possibly know (they were pretty obscure) and then confirmed them later.

These are NOT ancestral memories, at least most of them, because they include being other races (I'm white) such as Chinese or Indian.

Reincarnation is real - God recycles.

What hypnosis methods do you use? Do you do it yourself?

The devils believe they lived before but they were dead in sin. You only gain life with faith in Jesus, come to him and repent. Believe in him and gain eternal life!
Life seems to be a balance of peace and chaos. Without the madness life would be pretty boring. Without the peace we would surely all die. Commit to the lord and know you're saved. Praise our savior Jesus christ.

Sure.

So many lives, so many places. These lives are like taking on a character. You act your way through it.

You just gotta work your way through the lower astral (The 8th Sphere) after death and then you won't be pushed back.
Don't fall in with the crowd and don't be afraid.

Easier said than done, right?

Once you master that, you can come back at your leisure.. But it's not recommended unless you're sure can overcome the fear, cause it's easy to get trapped again.

Re: Have you lived before?
I once had a past life reading off one of these green hippy dippy wickan witch type people a few years back, she did not know me from Adam, it cost £20 anyway.

She said, I am an old soul, and that I had not reincarnated many times. The ones she said were, that I was some ancient Egyptian councillor or aid of high ranking and with a lot of power who mimgled with the pharoh?

Also I was a brave warrior warring Scottish knight who fought in the Crusades, had a castle in Scotland, but was known to be mean, cruel, terrible and wicked, in my time, and that I died aged about 50 in battle.

Funny thing is, ever since I was a child I have always had this affinity with Ancient Egypt, even trying to learn hieroglyphics. Also had an affinity with them Crusades and the middles ages etc since childhood.
Who knows, but I must of done some bad things in previous lives, to,have such a boring shite life now, each rebirth we must try to do better and learn?

No. You live once.

So no. We get just one shot at life.
