Diversity is the mindset of weak investors. It's the single reason they preach it the world over. Yes, you can make money using this method, but it's not because of being a market wizard or anything. It's the blanket strategy for the sheep.

As a par of multi millionaires once told me, rather than put your eggs in all baskets, instead put your eggs in one basket, and become VERY good at watching that one basket.

The market is rolling over. Whether it's short term buy the dip, or a true collapse remains to be seen. There exists a half dozen gaps still to fill, all the way back down to the 18k/19k lows.

THEY DONT WANT THE DOLLAR ANY MORE AND IT WILL BE RENDERED USELESS.

THE DOLLAR IS WHAT ENABLES YOU TO STILL BUY THINGS and when they collapse it you will only get what they tell you you may have.

Another way to look at it is if you have been in the market for 20 years, you should have doubled your money at least three times...So giving back 25%, in the case of the '29 crash or the 20% from last year is tolerable...

Think in terms of Germany after World War I. Dissimilar situations, but likely a similar outcome when they crash the world economy... Not a given , but highly probable.

Research again the agenda for The Great Reset and know that in one form or another it IS coming... Impossible to stop.

Just my sense, Let's hope that conclusion is dead wrong.

Germany had to pay war reparations for losing the war...The definition of Reich is not empire, it's "try" as in the first, second, and third try...Maybe one day the Germans will get it right lol

Individual stocks are volatile, just ask the folks at Enron...

I put 25% in the high risk category, but if your strategy has made you millions, don't change it...Do what works...Playing peek-a-boo with you money will not get you better gains than a long term investment strategy, and it has been proven...

If you are putting things into MMAs, don't forget this - only have 250k or less in any one bank, not account. Don't take the risk if they combine your accounts for FDIC insurance if the bank folds.

This is true in recent history. But another 1929 type event would take a really long time to recover from. It took 25 years for the market to recover from the 1929 crash. That is much longer than most people saving for retirement could wait.

The world is going to shit but there’s no place to hide from the dollar.

Diversify.

80% stock

(60% total us stock market low cost etf + 40% International stock fund low cost )

10% TIPS

10% low cost gold etf

No bonds

Diversify globally equity wise and use tips, ibonds, reits and gold etf instead of bonds. (Gold is now at a high)

I just turned my 401 into cash 6 months ago.

Bought a big ass safe, filled it with 100 dollar bills and
Multiple ozs of Gold.

Still had enough left over to clear myself of all debt and
grin from ear to ear every time i see that bank statement.

ReTirement I highly recommend.

Re: Back in September moved to 100% capital preservation in 401K
What is the point of preserving money in a bank?
Did you not pay attention in 2008? Did you not notice the "bail-ins" in Europe where they just took their patrons deposits? Laws are already on the books to do the Same in the United States and elsewhere The Government of the world are simply printing money and buying when the stock markets tank. Look at the short term market in Sept 2019. Do you think that stopped?
Where do you think all of these massive cash deals in real estate are coming from? People cashing out their stocks while the govt happily prints money to buy them. Why is Black Rock buying RE? Why is Bill Gates buying farmland?
The Dollar itself is in jeopardy of high, if not hyper inflation. The Stock Market kept going up in Wiemar Germany too.. and the companies those stocks represented failed in the hyper-inflationary economy. And that was JUST inflation there. Now add in the effects of pandemic restrictions , world unrest, supply chain disruption and think about the repercussions might be.

I took my money out of all stock in summer of 2008 just before the crash, and yes, I could have thrown it back in and earned 5X what I had. I didn't. I cashed out my 401k, and bought a house outright with a few acres. I have since taken all extra capital and worked on getting ready and self sufficient. I would be worth 2 million+ if I had 'reinvested" after the 2008 crash. I didn't because I vastly overestimated the intelligence of my fellow man and the underestimated the corruption of the government. Do I regret that decision now? Absolutely not. In fact my life became richer and better when I let go of the big house and mortgage, the opinions of strangers and the pursuit of wealth and traded it for the pursuit of self-sufficiency, as the latter forces me out of my comfort zone and to learn more and improve myself each day, spend time in and with nature, and spend more time with those I love and building true friendships and community with neighbors.

If needed your 401K will be taken by the bank that holds it. If the system doesn't crash your 401K will become worthless over time as inflation eats away at it. Govt spending isn't going to change and that trajectory is set as the elephant in the room.
Your 401k will never provide you with the retirement you intended it to, much less the basic needs to survive what I fear is coming ( even social security will be bankrupt by 2034) The hour is already very late.

Pay off all your debt, and your house if you can, and always keep 10% of your savings in hard assets, like land, ammo, physical gold & silver, etc. You should also keep 5-10% of your savings in accessible cash, just in case the banks shut their doors, like they've done in the past during panics.

With as volatile as the world is today, don't keep any savings in any investments you can't afford to lose overnight.

You want backup plan after backup plan, because there's no way in telling which way things will go.

Most importantly, have fun, and enjoy all the shit life has to offer.
