It used to employ thousands only in this city. Now in my town starting to see many homeless sleeping in the streets. Never saw that before.

Some people unfortunately can't afford to lose their job, can't afford to move city or state. The hostess doesn't deserve this. Intimidating the unfortunate front line staff that is being forced by their employer to put themselves in danger isn't going to change anything for the better. In fact it is what they want so they can justify measures to "restore the peace".

The employer has put her in this position rather than hiring security to deal with the passport check. The employer has chosen to stay open and do as they are told rather than stand up against those that would take away all of our rights. The poor girl is probably scared and is complying because she can't afford to lose her job.

Sometimes the lack of humanity and understanding on this site is depressing.

No one going to a restaurant in NYC is starving. They start pushing this shit in grocery stores though and everyone will be starving.

That is my stance: It's your choice, not mine.

Don't blame the employee. Maybe some of us can afford to lose a job, but especially young people working a low paying job to gain work experience can't. Not all of them can move home with mom and dad, some of them are living on the edge while trying to pay for school with a part time crap job.

The target should never be front line staff. It should be the employer that doesn't give a shit about people like her and put her in a vulnerable situation so they can stay open. An ethical employer would hire security to check the passports, or would stand up and defend their customer base and their right to run their business as they please.

I won't even grace the doorway of anywhere that requires me to share personal medical information as a condition of allowing me to spend my money there. I would certainly never intimidate a kid just doing their shitty underpaid job.
