Thought for sure they'd make him test for Covid. Doctor just took a lung x-ray. Said it was pneumonia. Probably from wearing a mask all day at work. Never gave him the nasal swab test. This was in possibly the bluest state btw. I wasn't there so but I thought that was interesting. |

This was in possibly the bluest state btw. I wasn't there so but I thought that was interesting. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 80213157 This is because at the start of Covid, doctors stopped ordering X-rays to check for pneumonia or giving the influenza tests. I had a relative that knew she had the flu but urgent care said it was Covid. She demanded the influenza test but they refused. She left and called her doctor’s office and told them what happened. They squeezed her in and it turned out it was Influenza B. Hospitals, urgent care centers, many personal doctors all stopped checking for the simple explanation and just wrote it off as Covid. They get 3X the payment to treat Covid. Now things are changing. I’m hearing that more doctors are checking for the flu first then other possibilities before checking for covid. Remember: The flu went from 80% to 1.8% in one year. The common cold went from 87% to 2% in that same time frame. These magically stopped when Covid started. |

Dentek is the best if you have an average to smallish mouth, available at drugstores or amazon. You can boil water/mold to fit but it also works straight out of the box until you have time to mess with it. “Cool Turtle Mask Enhancer” may be of interest. Plastic frame type thing to put underneath that holds the mask off your face. Bought a pack at Walmart As Seen on TV section but haven’t tried it yet. You will need to accomplish the following at screening stations set up at your site entrances: (1) Ask Symptom Checking Questions 1. Do you have a fever? 2. Have you experienced chills or drenching nights sweats in the last 3 days? 3. Have you had any of the following symptoms: cough, loss of taste or smell, shortness of breath, body aches, headache, sore throat, runny nose or nasal congestion? 4. Have you traveled internationally/outside of Michigan within the last 14 days? 5. Have you had close contact with a confirmed/probable COVID-19 case? (2) Take a Temperature A temperature ABOVE 100.4°F (38.0°C) indicates a fever. It is critically important that physical distancing is maintained during this process. If an employee or visitor answers YES to any screening question or has a temperature above 100.4°F, they are considered to have FAILED the screening. [link to www.hap.org (secure)] |

Meanwhile, the doctors told her it would be fine until the pharmacist called the doctors office and chewed them out. This is very true these days especially. Doctors receive visits from drug company reps, they bring samples, gifts, and literature extolling the virtues of the meds they are peddling. Most of all they bring incentives. For every prescription written for their meds, the doctors get kick backs, or points towards trips to "conferences" in tropical destination resorts. I know this for a fact first hand because there are doctors in the family. In the old days doctors knew their shit but now they rely on med school drop outs and wannabes to tell them what's what. Your pharmacists knows what the doctors no longer can be bothered to learn. Light travels faster than sound. This is why some people appear bright until you hear them speak. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 79543875 United States 09/18/2021 02:52 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | This was my experience in an urgent care in Texas. I was severely ill…coughing so bad I couldn’t even talk. Snot dripping out of my nose. Not pretty I know. But the point is I was visibly sick as a dog…no mention of vaccine, no ask if I had it. I did get a covid test because of my work rules…but I’m not joking when I saw the doctor got all up in my face wiping snot from my nose. It was actually kinda nice for a change. I felt like wow these people are not treating me like I have the plague. So yeah. I wonder why urgent care is different? Maybe they see something we don’t. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 73087435 Yup. They are like small towns vs big cities. Much nicer. And just as smart. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 80868655 I made a thread last night. Anyway, no questions about covid. I noticed the employees who came in during a shift change had to get screened, none had a mask on when they came in and got one from the desk Kind of odd considering we locked down the world for a virus and no mention of it in the ER Crazy Emergency room for ticks?! Metro Detroit, Michigan. I just visit my PCP on Thursday evening. Noone there. One patient was in the clinic when I arrived and they shortly left. One patient was arriving when I left. My PCP did not push the vaccine, just said if I take one to take Moderna. He is also my PCP that had covid early on and self medicated with HCQ. He is 75 now. Anyways, he said if you get sick at all with symptoms come to him. He will prescribe IVM immediately and then if Positive he will give Zpack along with sending me for MC antibodies. He said this should kick it in a few days for 99.9% of folks. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 79543875 United States 09/18/2021 02:56 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I went to the ER the other day myself. 5am wake up and my right flank and back were in incredible pain, I couldn't stand up straight for even 2 minutes. I thought maybe my appendix, or kidney was on the verge of exploding it hurt that bad. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 73822952 So I took myself to the ER. Keep in mind it was about 6am. There was nobody in there whatsoever, HOWEVER there was a news crew outside. Now the ER lady at the front was nice enough to fill out the computer touch screen check in for me, they took my blood pressure and had me take a seat. The local news was on and to my surprise there it was the hospital I was at with the news lady ranting about 8 hour long waits because of the high amount of people coming in for covid. There was literally one other person inside the waiting area at that time, it was a fat black girl with a white blanket over her sleeping on a bench. So I waited ruffly an hour, they took my blood and had me give a urine sample. Waited about 45 more minutes to see a doctor. Doctor said I had no signs of infection, my blood pressure was good, and my HEMOGLOBIN levels were great. I guess he mentioned that because covid screws that up and that is how they checked to see if I had been infected with covid. Anyways I spent about another 2 hours getting imaging tests done, having the doctor feel around to see what the problem was. Turns out I had an ulcer. Great I straight away feel much better knowing it's not my appendix about to burst or a problem with my kidney. It's now about 11am and I go to leave and am walking out into the waiting area. There's now a total of 5 people in there, all FAT black girls sleeping on benches with blankets over them. Anyways that was my experience. The TV news media is flat out lying their asses off. That being said I said a prayer for the hospital and the nurses, they were all very kind to me and really did do everything they could to try to find out why I was in so much pain. I've noticed people always talking shit about the nurses and doctors but I don't believe these people are in on the scam for the most part. Remember they are the ones who helped bring you into the world, and when you're about to die they will be the ones there as well trying to keep you here. Good people they deserve praise. Darker skinned people need to take their vitamin d. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 79543875 United States 09/18/2021 02:58 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I had a similar experience at an emergency room last Monday. I was there for abdominal pain caused by dehydration. No mention of covid or Vax status. The only one requiring the mask was the receptionist. Once I was admitted, I took the mask off. Doc cake in and I was trying to get the mask back on; his reply, and I'm paraphrasing, "don't worry about that shit, you're perfectly fine without it." The tide has turned, the ideology behind covid is dead. Thank God, truth wins again. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 76840612 One day while I was in hospital I went for one of the recommended walks around the ward and realized I didn't put a mask on. There were several nurses at the station and when I exclaimed "O God, I forgot my mask, I'm going to get you all killed" They all chuckled and someone calmly got me a mask. The only people freaking out about the virus are the sheep that are permanently plugged into social media and fake news networks, the ones that still believe the government is there to keep them safe. They have worked around it for along time. Most have antibodies. If the jab didn’t wipe them out. Anyway they wouldn’t be working there if they were scared. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 79543875 United States 09/18/2021 03:08 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Urgent Cares are a better alternative to some local hospital Emergency departments. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 56516721 I've had good experiences with them. Unless you go to a Level One Trans Center you are not to spend hours in a waiting room and have a negative overall experience. AMEN. I won't go to an ER anymore unless I'm bleeding out. Hubs went to his regular dr for routine check-up after an outpatient surgery a month ago. Everyone there gave him shit about the mask he DOESN'T wear....he gave shit back. Dr. comes out and says "BXXX, man, you gotta wear the thing in here. The hospital owns this building and they MAKE me do it. If we don't comply, they can pull my lease and kick me out." Hubs complied. They get in the exam room and Dr. pulls his mask OFF and says, "MAN! I HATE THESE THINGS! But it's not my idea." So now I give some folks a pass, KNOWING they're probably being pressured to do stuff like that. Of course they are. Most don’t want to wear them. Only do it because they have to. |

But we were never asked about covid, testing or jabs. You’d be surprised at how many medical staff and docs know that covid is BS. They work on the front line so they know. |
