Seems to me futures have not been an accurate indicator of late.

I took my retirement out of the market a month ago. Hopefully I did the right thing.

The last time the market "corrected," I and others had no time to react.

How can this be the end of the world? Those loans are collateralized by the real estate. Unless real estate values crash in China, the loss is limited. Someone could buy those projects and complete them.

Correct. Called this in January of this year. ( Not educated formally, just a girl from a trailer park who is whip-smart, and educated herself) The investment in the US - real estate-backed securities, and actual real estate is how this will be the death knell.

I know for a fact that "foreign investors" have been purchasing in the US since 2013 or so. Dallas is heavily owned by foreign investors. My sister sold her house years ago to one - cash purchase fifty thousand over listed price- she never even met the person.

Her home is now a rental.

Covid changed the landscape of real estate being the end-all and be-all of our economy.

No one can afford to buy a home, and no one can afford to pay for one. Forbearances are ending for many soon, and that's on the rental and homeownership side.

All these investors had to front payments for all of these loans to the bank they borrowed from. It does not only affect the Evergrande group.

This crash will formally cause the great reset.

It will make the great depression look like a recession.
