Some of us still grow the old bud. The new shit is just that, shit. Anyone who knows about marijuana knows the original strains and that anything after is a hybrid at best.

70s pot LOL! Mexican and Colombian were all we could get. The Mexican was stocks, seeds and insect parts. Sometimes you would find honey combs. Then you had to get a shoe box lid to remove seeds by the roll method. The pot stunk as well as shit taste. Colombian was better. All pot looked terrible back then. Anyone remember Thai sticks? Nice pot but pricey. Here in BC we have our world famous buds. Beautiful to look at. Fantastic smell. My house always smells like citrus. Lemon and orange from the sweet pot I get. Delivered to my door! Online pot here is fantastic.

I did not post that. High Times sucks and Greenhouse gets their genetics from the US not the other way around.

I feel you op. I used to smoke a bit 15 years ago back when it was just "regular weed." I liked it. I could work on it. I could be social on it. I could function.

Nowadays, if i smoke what the kids are smoking... my brain shuts off. I can't carry on conversation. I forget what I'm doing. I forget seemingly everything. I seriously feel broken.

So yeah. No more weed for me either.

IDK about all those modern hybrid types but the old school weed would make us laugh so much. Laugh so hard your cheeks would hurt. I miss that type of high. Can't understand why that is no longer the case. But they've ruined everything else too...so it figures.

Recently came across Apalacuo Gold, no stems no seeds that you don't need.
 Quoting: popsawheelie

I'd definitely want the seeds. Good AG is hard to find.

I'm guessing that's what we had back in the 70's. It all smelled the same and had the same high.

There are many factors. The crossbreeding is certainly a big One.

Environment and care influence these things immensely as well.

I'm off to enjoy some of the last hot summer weather at our favorite local lake and hiking trails. Four fatties of this Death Star x Apollo I grew ought to be more than enough between the two of us till nighttime. Not bad at all for freebie seeds. Sour Diesel dominates with a roadkill skunk odor. Plenty potent too.

No more of this new shit for me either. I had it way back in the 1980's when I first noticed it's arrival on the scene. I use to clean and weigh whole natural plants from Mexico and Columbia that came over whole in Hefty trash bags. Nothing like the weird shit of today. I mean, sure, the plants of the 60's and 70's had seeds, bugs, etc., I use to clean, but it was a much mellower smoke.

some strains from 1980 - 83 that I remember fondly ...

Lambs breath ...
Budda ...
Columbian Gold ...
also got what I was told was ... black n tan hash ... dark on outside , lighter colored middle ...

all good memories ...

I recall lambs breath. One of the strains that went around Brantford when 95% of the market was hash. I was selling it out of the downtown arcade...lol...

DO you recall the 'ownership' battle between the Texadans and Nick Sands? They claimed that 'Texada Timewarp' was home bred. Nick stated he brought it up while on the run from the FBI and it was really Big Sur Holy weed? Or maybe that was just local in the BC Bud community?
