I was just thinking that last night!

The Cumbre Vieja de La Palma is a strombolian-type volcanic complex. That is, it houses volcanoes that give rise to explosive eruptions: they are effusive, emit lava and smoke.

Specifically, all the volcanoes in the Canary Islands are between levels one and two out of nine of the explosive index. The higher the index, the higher the gas content in the magma and, therefore, the greater the explosiveness (it can reach level 9), as indicated by the National Geographic Institute.

That's not always how this works. Many eruptions start small and are followed by ever increasing eruptions. No doom is off. It's not like an earthquake where the worst is usually the first event and everything after is smaller.

Every one in New York is encouraged to hurry & get vaccinated before the tsunami hits.. just sayin'.

Might want to put on an extra 'scubba-mask' over your three n-95's.. you can never be 'too-safe'.

we were told twenty years ago to watch for the CANARY ISLANDS..

the volcano eruption would cause a specific giant slab of the island, to slide down into the ocean depths.
it was already broken and barely hanging on..
it was/is a waiting game/ never IF but WHEN.

the tsunami would be epic and a killer.

First evacuations taking place

They have no idea what it will do, as earthquake forecasts, the science is guesstimates.

You have as good a chance of knowing by watching as most experts.

Obviously if the experts knew about today there would have been major evacuation efforts before the eruptions, not after.

I live 150 km from the sea in NL and my dog is lying in front of the door.. She NEVER does that.
