A guy on the Cincinatti Reds got his very first hit in the major leagues and it ended up being a home run. The Dodger outfielder was aware of the importance of that baseball to the player, so even though he played for a different team, Mookie offered to give one of his bats to the fan who caught the ball in exchange for the home run ball to give to the Reds player. That's a very cool jester right there by Mookie Betts. But it gets even better.... If you watch the second video at the link below, the guy who caught the ball, gets Mookies bat in a trade, but at the end of the video you see the guy give the bat to a little kid in a Mookie Betts Jersey! I love when people do stuff like this for people they probably don't even know. [ link to www.mlb.com (secure)] |

Here's my only Dodger meme to share. Not quite applicable at the moment, but feel free to use it in the future! ~Wharf Rat |

On closer inspection of the second video it looks like the guy is keeping the bat but is just letting the little kid get a picture of him holding the bat.
The guy who caught the ball probably kept the bat as well.
Could have been awesome if he let the kid keep the bad but I doubt he did.
