It's not your fault. It's not because you aren't persistent enough. It's because it doesn't work. This is just pseudoscience. If it was your mind changing the eye colour, you wouldn't need sound.
Something is not true just because many people say it. This is a logical fallacy called 'appeal to popularity.' You can find hundreds of people all claiming that contradictory things are true, yet two contradictory things can't be true. Surely you agree with that?
