Its near Mount Skene national features scenic area. I assume its a rugged area?
Maybe a DUMB blowing? Fault lines far away. Looks to be a remote area.

Im sure there are deep underground bases just like here

Could be, there's a lot of deep gold mines in the area of the epicenter, a easy place to set off a small nuke to create a disaster to stop people protesting. As others from Melbourne has said, we don't get quakes like this here.

Does anyone know yet if it has the seismic pattern of a real natural earthquake or the strange pattern of that of an explosion??

Yes very unusual this earthquake event for you guys.

5.8 mag @ 10.km depth.......sizeable.

Hopefully not too much damage in the area affected.
