Simple. They want to keep the vaccine push going as long as possible. How would you feel as a vaccinated person if you found out a 5 dollar drug would save you from a virus they convinced you to take an experimental vaccine for? I'd be highly pissed off.  True, but by waiting, they create thousands / millions more of these pissed off persons, as they continue to get their covid shot.
