A now-contained active shooter situation at Fort Meade in Maryland has resulted in multiple casualties. According to PIO Angie Streets, the incident happened shortly before 10 a.m. Thursday.

An emergency official said 5 people were injured in a shooting Thursday at the highly secure Fort Meade army base north of Washington, AFP reported on Thursday.
