Why do we have 80+ aged people still working in Congress???

Senator Byrd was so out of it back in the day when he was still around. I used to say when Byrd voted "one drewel" is a yes vote..."two drewels" was a no!!! Term limits people!! The longer they stay the crookeder they get and let's not forget the longer they stay the richer they get. Get rid of "career politicians"!!! New people, ones that aren't rich, with new ideas not concerned about themselves more concerned about our country...I wonder what that would be like?? Maybe someday..

Because the Constitutional qualifications were written with rules for members of Congress only in regard to how old you had to be eligible to run for office - 25 and 30. Nobody ever realized how long people would be living these days due to modern medicine, not to mention the egos that are so huge they'd never resign. Cognitive impairment is a reality in the elderly! No disrespect just the way it is. It's a serious problem that hasn't been dealt with.
