How does "alpha" vaccine work on "delta" variants of COVID

Its absolutely ridiculous to think that a year old vaccine could work on all the various strains of Covid.
That's why there is a new flu shot each season. How illogical can people be? In fact there are many reporting that the vaccine against the alpha strain is creating all the variants. Its like antibiotic resistance strains of bacteria. Ever heard of MRSA and the likes?
Just food for thought.

There may or may not be a possibility that the medications work similarly here. If they are only effective against one protein, yet dozen are present..how effective is it?
