All three sell a nice selection of produce, too, in their limited space. We feel very fortunate to have a lot of small grocers, plus Aldi, ShopRite, Lidl, Acme and Walmart as needed. I don't eat meat, but my family does. When he goes to the meat markets/butchers he says the prices are "high but normal, not cheap." He doesn't go to them because of sales, but because of cuts and freshness ... all 3 have similar prices and specials. I just went to one's website: [link to www.marcaccimeats.com (secure)] These are prices at a meat market in Southern NJ. I don't know if they are good, or not, because you couldn't pay me enough to eat flesh foods ... but here goes ... This week they have bone-in ribeye for $15.99/lb - so, higher than OP. Quoting: Butch DeFeo If not, why would it be this expensive in Costco? I have no idea. We buy meat from ranchers here in NM. 7-8 per pound, average. Grass fed, grass finished, and dry cured for 2-3 weeks. But Costco is NWO central... Gates father was on the board of directors... the original eugenicist. People see bulk and just assume they're saving because of it. On cost per unit.. you don't save. Sure every so often they throw a sale to make you think you got a deal. Sure if you compare them to Kroger...and other grocery stores. But Walmart is cheaper than Costco... And you don't have to buy bulk. |

User ID: 75054927 United States 09/30/2021 01:45 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Since your thread is pinned, I'll repost my meat topic here. We need more eyes and reports on this! .... I noticed in July (after the JBS hack) that ground beef prices rose 12% from June. Here is my spreadsheet that I just updated September 29th. For ground beef, prices at the store are actually rising faster than 12% every month. On the top rows, I started the series with the actual prices in highlighted green. From there it adds 12% to the price of the previous month -- resulting in a 289% annual increase since it's stacked on top of the previous month. The second list is actual prices I recorded at the store for comparison. If I get two prices in a month, I take the higher one - I try to get the prices at the end of the month. The cheapest and lowest quality ground chuck beef log is already up 44% in three months. https://imgur.com/a/K3RJrae I didn't think it was possible for it to continue but I put together a list of what prices would look like in June 2022 if they continued a 12% increase every month. I stated this back in July on this site: At this rate, June 2022 meat prices would be July 2021 $2.99/lb ground beef = $11.64/lb in 2022 $4.99/lb stew beef = $19.41/lb $12.30/lb NY Strip = $47.84/lb THIS IS GOING UP BY DESIGN through the World Economic Forum's plan to get people to eat lab created meat. They never said they would outlaw meat, but if they make it much more expensive than lab grown meat, I guarantee people will succumb to the mystery meat. |

User ID: 67326356 United States 09/30/2021 01:47 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | True, but that price is for a bulk purchase of nearly 21 1/2 pounds, which should significantly cheaper than single serving cuts. here in hyperinflated California, I bought a big piece of ribeye like that for less than $10 per pound just 2 years ago. At the same time, a single ribeye steak was running less than $12 |

User ID: 48839569 United States 09/30/2021 01:59 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | At Kroger here in Shelbyville, KY, ribeye is $15.99-$16.99 per lb. Milk is up 80 cents a gallon. It's crazy the kind of inflation I am seeing. Honestly, I'm in my 40s and I have never seen it like this before. I'm glad back in the beginning of August, my wife and I went in with a couple in our church to buy a half cow. Even with the butcher's fee for processing we paid $4.59/lb.
