Anonymous Coward User ID: 80946151 United States 10/01/2021 10:00 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Amazing, I have an idea to fix the post office. Slow it down.. brilliant! Quoting: Swingline Mail delivery for many Americans will slow starting on Friday, part of Postmaster General Louis DeJoy's blueprint for overhauling the U.S. Postal Service in order to slash costs. But critics say the slower delivery standards could cause problems such as late bill delivery while more broadly undermining the public's faith in the USPS. Almost 4 of 10 pieces of first-class mail will see slower delivery, according to Paul Steidler, senior fellow at the Lexington Institute and an expert on the postal service. That "means mail delivery will be slower than in the 1970s," he said, calling DeJoy's plan "disastrous." Starting tomorrow, the postal service's current three-day delivery standard for first-class mail — letters, bills, tax documents and the like — will drop to delivery anywhere within the U.S. within five days. In other words, Americans should now expect that letters and other mail could take up to five days to reach their destinations, and vice versa. [link to www.cbsnews.com (secure)] You're good. And speaking of, why is it no law has ever been passed allowing us to opt out of receiving junk mail? I thought everything we do is bad for the earth? But nobody seems to care about all the trees going to keeping those asshats with something to deliver. |

Quoting: Pureblood Crypto-Tard People will send more email. more paperless statements, more direct bill payments, don't they also want to increase the price from 55 cents to 61 or 62 cents?? all kinda of stupid since they will be delivering that junk mail all at heavily discounted rates anyway! i think the only bill i even mail anymore is for my quarterly H/O Insurances, i could time that out without any problems and pay it in person so that would be no outgoing mail from me period, they should do away with Saturday deliveries, it would save them a lot of OT money!! i guess all those new EV's joe wants for the PO will need the extra time to charge up lol lol would rather have it & not need it then need it & not have it |

But nobody seems to care about all the trees going to keeping those asshats with something to deliver. the trash that is generated from that junk mail is crazy and a waste of resources, for me AARP is one of the biggest offenders, also CITI Bank offers, after years of getting offers from them and never applying should have sent the message that we are just not interested? Speaking of Trees, do to all the home deliveries for just about everything these day's when do you figure we see a tax proposal for all those Carboard boxes hitting the land fills?? My neighbor up the road has about a small pickup truck load worth of broken down boxes every week, sometimes they will have two stacks about 4 feet high and it's only a household of three! Quoting: J to the Rizzoyce People always say this but I've personally had almost no issues with USPS in the past. FedEx on the other hand is almost always consistently late or loses my shit. I had a case of ammo shipped FedEx ground just disappear for a week and then it said delivered. Nothing on my doorstep then suddenly 3 days later it shows up. My wife sent a family friend some cookies for their birthday via FedEx a couple weeks back and it just disappeared in a TN FedEx hub for nearly a week and suddenly without any more updates showed up. |
