There’s a time limit.
Once I break the skin I’m all in. 8 hrs so far of putting the drawing on, couple hours left to finish then start carving.

Oh damn. I'm looking forward to seeing the finished product. :)

Hoping I can pull this one off lol. If not then I’m doing something quick and stupid with my backup pumpkin. Anyhoo, I’m taking pics but will wait to post it. :)

When does the competition start? I might get involved with a entry this year, but the darn pumpkins around here are very expensive. Guess I might have to use baby pumpkins.

Contest starts on the 15th.

Same here, why I’m carving early.
Last year everyone sold out of pumpkins.

Right now, the local roadside pumpkin patch money whores are charging around 45 bucks for a decent sized pumpkin while I can currently get a bigger better one at Walmart for less than 5 dollars.

I've done mine over a 3 day period and it still works. Spray with alcohol overnight is what they say to do but I never have done anything special. The tough areas, just carve a bit to get them working again.

I make my initial cuts a bit smaller until almost done then enlarge them for the final show, this way it doesn't matter if I take 2 days and on one, 3 days.

Daughter is going out tomorrow to buy the pumpkin(s) while she is out stopping at all the places that do free things for birthdays.

Got the plans together - now to see if I change them once I start looking at the pumpkin(s).
