I think I entered just once, but I wasn't the actual carver. My other half (a GLP'er) and my daughter carved.

I usually just observe. I love seeing all of the creations!

I actually recently bought 2 pumpkins and put them on my front steps. Yesterday someone stole one and smashed it right across the street. :(

Probably a pumpkin shine… just come to the south… if it’s juicy and can be fermented someone’s gonna find a way to drink it.

3/4 done after I started, what, a year ago? Seems like it.. I hate this pumpkin because it hates me. I call my kiddos punkin but cannot anymore until the hatred passes. It’s do or die tonight, there is only so much lubricant.

Where's everybody getting their pumpkins? Grocery store, roadside stand, or the neighbors porch? I saw seven on the stoop of an apartment. Started salavating thinking the owner won't miss one.

I’m in the south, NE Texas … don’t know if supplies come from nearby distributors..

Last year, everyone sold out, only bastard roadside stands had decent ones for like 45 bucks minimum.

This year… at least so far… Walmart and Sams club have some great giant pumpkins, multiple pallets… less than 5 bucks.

Get em while you can. I know mine will be rotted by Halloween but I wanted to get a good one and carve it while I could.

Out in the boonies anyways… if I put something out on my porch only a couple cows or a possum in the night will see it and then eat it. I carve only for helping my kiddos with a yearly art project and to compete here lol.

Got mine at Harris Teeter. Was hard as a rock. Difficult to get a knife through. Was six bucks. Probably because it was grown in a cement factory.
