More flashes and something that looked a lot like a UFO just zoomed through horizontally.

You clearly do not grasp this at all. "Pressure" has absolutely nothing to do with whether or not there is the landslide that causes a Tsunami in the Atlantic Ocean.

The "spine" which forms the top ridge of the island was created by volcanic eruptions and is about 6,000 feet tall.

Traveling down from that spine, on either side of it, is about 2 miles to the ocean, which is Sea level.

So in two miles, the land goes from sea level to 6,000 feet elevation. That is a steep climb. Gravity affects that steep slope.

Inside that slope are old lava tubes from prior eruptions. Lava tubes are impermeable to water. Water get can't into or out of them.

The lava tubes run almost vertically deep inside the slope. Volcanic rock forms the underside. It too is impermeable to water.

So we have an impermeable base, on top of which is ash and lava from eruptions, and interspersed in that ash and rock from previous eruptions are old lava tubes.

It rains in LaPalma like everywhere else. The rain hits the ground and soaks in. It goes deeper and deeper until it arrives at the impermeable foundation of what is now the rock and ash forming the base of the slope. So the ground water just sits there. It can't go anywhere.

Over decades, more and more and more water accumulated. It's trapped.

Along comes a new eruption. Lava is coming out of earth's core. Hot lava. two thousand degrees.

As the lava comes up, it will take the path of least resistance, and that __may__ mean the old lava tubes.

If lava starts going into those old tubes, it will, by nature, begin heating the ground AROUND those lava tubes. And what's in that ground? Groundwater.

As the groundwater is heated by the two thousand degree lava, it boils and becomes steam. But it has no way to get out. So it builds upward pressure.

If enough lava heats enough water to get enough steam, the uplift pressure from the steam will overcome the friction that holds the ash and rock in-place, and gravity will cause the whole thing to slide on a cushion of steam and groundwater, right into the Atlantic Ocean.

No "pressure" from the volcano is needed. Only heat in the wrong place.

With new vents still forming, and now doing so very near the unstable land mass, it is irrefutable fact that heating of some of that groundwater is now taking place.

THAT is what will cause the landslide, and the landslide will cause the tsunami.
