It looks like a grass spider to me. It's hard to tell from the pic, but the markings look similar. Check out a picture of those. They can get pretty big.

I had a huge wolf spider living in my screen porch my first year here. Then one day he just disappeared. That thing was half as large as my phone. It was crazy big!

Carolina Wolf Spiders (hogna carolinensis) get much larger than the specimen you have there.

They're harmless though, used to capture and pick them up with my hands. Plus they are beneficial for hunting other insects that are truly pests.

I encountered two in my youth that were literally tarantula sized. No, I didn't pick those particular ones up.

The only spiders I'm okay with are jumping spiders. They're total bros. All other spiders meet my shoe. Jumpers though can hang out in my house on the walls and ceilings for all I care.

That was my thinking. We had them big time in Georgia. Like 10 years ago my friends and I had this sweet fort in the woods behind a Kroger. One night we were back there and I shined my phone light on my pant leg and saw one of those grass spiders the width of a tennis ball just chilling near my shin. I jumped up kicking and screaming like bitch. Those spiders are scary as shit. Another time I saw one with a bunch of babies in her back and got the idea to try to kick her and she met me mid air literally jumping at my shoe. I stopped messing with her after that.
