And it's rational, because there are many benefits to having control of one of the two major political parties in the US. Let's kick the can down the road. Voting Republican in four years will somehow fix it all, when Biden will have completely destroyed the country in three. What makes you think either Cruz or DeSantis wants the thankless job of president after seeing what the deep state did to Trump? Hardly a given.
