I got a few five gallon food grade buckets from lowes and then filled them with rice, beans/lentils/peas and pasta. It didn't cost that much and you can buy a some every time you shop. Even starting late, it shouldn't take long to build up at least a month or two worth of food.
Quoting: themessengernevermatters I have several dozen 5 gallon buckets and I'm currently cleaning out about 8 of them and getting ready to store beans in them. I'm so thankful I live in the country and have food preps, water collection systems, livestock, tools, and wide open land. I give thanks to God for giving me the foresight into prepping and working on what I have to care for my family.
