Anonymous Coward User ID: 80941162 Argentina 10/04/2021 10:47 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I want to see what kind of supply shortages are going on in the back rooms. We all know the retail side is having shortages and of course the chip issues. Quoting: Billxam, ABATE, AWHA I just talked to my old boss where I worked before retiring, a commercial print shop, they do offset, digital printing and commercial mailings as well as a lot of promotional products (those cheap goodie bag giveaways). It's to the point where paper manufacturers are having trouble sourcing wood pulp to make the paper as well as chemicals used in paper creation - so there's paper supply shortages. And the cheap Chinese crap giveaway products are getting harder to get as well from places like Uline. So what's happening in your industry on the supply side? And if so, what type of supplies? I work at the silver industry Plenty of silver bars lower and lower |

Quoting: LSv3 did lumber prices come down recently after being tripled back in 2020? Lumber future prices did fall into August but are rising again. We have seen lumber prices down with our vendors but have been told prices may be going up again. All other material are up and have stayed up and delays are very long on some items. Doors and windows used to take 2-4 weeks and now we are seeing timelines 2-3 months depending on the manufacture. Plumbing fixture also have long lead times. Here since 2004. I would like one of my old accounts back. |

(OP) User ID: 56270897 United States 10/04/2021 10:54 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | 4 price increases this year "normal is one" Quoting: Mithradates Shortages in all areas. Parts Chems Metals The worst part is the delays, what once would be a two day ship cycle is now 2 or 3 weeks. Some ship dates are early 2022....crazy Now I'm wondering about domestic produced supplies - chemicals and other components to make other products like paper. Wood pulp would be American or Canadian. Most chemicals for processing would be too - paper production has been around for over a century. User ID: 76941156 Ireland 10/04/2021 10:56 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | It's not just supplies, it's services. EVERYTHING has broken down. You just can't speak to anyone on the phone, nobody answers! My bank card's about to expire. I haven't received a new one. So I won't be able to shop, or draw cash from a machine. Tried online, just stupid "due to covid" rubbish. Try to phone, endless irrelevant rubbish messages, 1001 options to press number 99 etc, then much later... "due to covid, it may be at least 20 minutes..." People tell me it's the same with everything. Shortage of HGV drivers: thousands have passed their tests but are waiting up to a year for the authority to issue their licence! Nobody can see a doctor any more, maybe wait weeks for an online appointment. People dying of cancer because it's undiagnosed. The whole fucking system is broken. Quoting: secretswami Steel, corrugated iron you can't get at any price. I'm keeping 100 cans of cat food for 2 cats in the pantry. A lot of animal products (snacks, feed both wet and dry) are getting hard to find on Amazon. So far Walmart and Petco aren't having trouble that I can see but there's fewer numbers of specific items on the shelves. User ID: 74482754 United States 10/04/2021 11:21 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | My boyfriend owns a screen printing business and he is unable to purchase many colors of ink. Many different colors of t-shirts, and sweatshirts, in various colors and sizes are also out of stock. He’s been having to piece together orders by telling his customers what colors that he is able to buy, in the sizes that they want, because he can’t even buy anything in just the basic colors of white, grey and pink. His distributors are unable to tell him when anything might be back in stock. He has family in Alabama, that also own screen printing businesses, and they are having the same problems so it’s not just limited to the state we are living in. |
