As real as the world spun by Samuel Clemmons, in complicated long sentences. "Penrod and Sam" is in the public domain. "Ep Mack im mimmup." Nothing shall be so certain as to permit confusion. |

User ID: 28092384 United States 10/05/2021 02:34 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | To my horror, my daughter in her tweens hated to read. I tried everything... until she was given one of Anne McCafferey's books, and she was hooked. Her books were a gateway drug for her to discover other fantasy writers like Tolkien, CS Lewis, and so many others. To this day she's an avid reader. I just didn't put the right books in her hands to start. I'm fond of Kafka's ability to describe a scene in such a vivid way that you would be totally convinced he had been there. Not only that but the characters get into the biggest fixes and most outlandish situations, and it's totally believable. Great set of reads, Fossy! Anne was mine too! I read the Dragonriders of Pern series, then Tolkien. Hooked on it all now. Making sammiches great again! |

Quoting: Deplorable Curly Howard He was good but he went off the rails with that Egyptian thing "It's a friendly friendly world" (Andy Kaufman) Calm seas do not a sailor make, Nor easy horses, a horseman. And Jesus was a sailor when he walked upon the water And he spent a long time watching from his lonely wooden tower and when He could be certain only drowning men could see Him- Leonard Cohen |

Tolkien was likely a Free Mason/Satanist. Ayn Rand was a Satanist. And Hunter S. Thompson filmed snuff pedophile films. I'd go for the more obscure. Peter Tompkins. Author of The Secret Life of Plants, amongst others. That book taught me more than any other book about plants. Last Edited by FRANK & BEANS on 10/06/2021 03:55 AM |

User ID: 79837764 United States 10/06/2021 10:36 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Jules Verne. I must have read Journey to the Center of the Earth a dozen times as a kid. He is the 2nd most translated author in the world. My second favorite author probably would be Erich Von Daniken because his books got me hooked on conspiracies. I know his books are mostly crap but they got me started. Third would be Thor Heyerdahl because of his books Kon-Tiki and Aku-Aku. |
