It is more than Facebook You called them 'rolling outages' and it made me think of China -- John C Dvorak is always complaining how Internet-connected systems rely heavily on microservices (web services) and I have to wonder whether China's rolling POWER blackouts are somehow to blame? These microservices may live on machines running in China. Hell, the backdoors China builds into their network hardware may rely on access to systems in China. LOL |

It is more than Facebook A long internet blackout makes no sense for me. They would make us blind, but they would be blind too. There were rumors they want to split the internet into a two class internet. First class internet for them and a dead second class internet for us. That would be more plausible, but is only speculation. |

Quoting: OneOfFive There were rumors they want to split the internet into a two class internet. First class internet for them and a dead second class internet for us. That would be more plausible, but is only speculation. I remember Operation Jade Helm a few years back. Some conspiracy buffs inflated the rumors to encompass some sort of martial law, which of course was ridiculous and didn't happen. There was another school of thought though that believed they were installing internet "filters" or regional/branch kill switches, as the stated goal of the operation was to be able to operate successfully on American soil without undue notice/interference by the civilian or local government segments. As we didn't get widespread reports of "military operations" on home soil at that time, we can conclude that the goal was achieved... whatever they were doing, they did it largely without being noticed. Is it possible they installed devices at crucial junctions of the internet superhighway, which filter or divert content with certain qualifying characteristics? Or which enable certain branches to be disabled at will, remotely? Not saying I know this to be true, just repeating some of what was being suggested at the time. It certainly makes one think. They may have moved on to simply blacking out certain infrastructure entities and the momentary blackouts are the cut-over to the new system being managed. |

I hadn't heard this potential operation during Jade Helm. Thank you for posting. Green Karma given |
