Would you play them if you're desperate for money?

Behind the Global Appeal of ‘Squid Game,’ a Country’s Economic Unease

In “Squid Game,” the hit dystopian television show on Netflix, 456 people facing severe debt and financial despair play a series of deadly children’s games to win a $38 million cash prize in South Korea.

Koo Yong-hyun, a 35-year-old office worker in Seoul, has never had to face down masked homicidal guards or competitors out to slit his throat, like the characters in the show do. But Mr. Koo, who binge-watched “Squid Game” in a single night, said he empathized with the characters and their struggle to survive in the country’s deeply unequal society...

I watched episode one last night. For the first half I thought it was the stupidest thing I've ever watched. The second half started getting good.
I'll watch episode two and see where it goes from here.

IS there subtitles or is it dubbed over into english?

No I loathe Netflix for carrying the movie Desire. The director exploits his own 9 year old daughter in the opening scene.

Yea...The prize money is like $37,000,000.

But, no, I wouldn't. The odds aren't that good, with only 1 out of 456 winning.

Great show. However, I recommend watching with Korean audio and English subtitles. The English dubbing is awful.

I read the vigilant citizen article about that show. It said it is full of sadistic murder. I can't imagine why anyone would want to pollute their mind with that sort of shit.

Um as players die, the pot of money goes up by $1m dollars, so the total pot will be like $455m.
