They aren't capable of training to run those particular routes that quickly plus the only national guard people that could do it would already be air traffic controllers that would have to be moved from somewhere else.

I also live in this area, Clearwater. No commercial jets today, and I've been watching. I'm very close to where planes coming in for landing at the St.Pete/Clearwater airport. I'm not under the landing approach, but the planes come in from the Gulf, quickly turn, and line up for the runway about 5 miles away.

No commercial aircraft, usually fairly busy.

Some small private planes from a small airfield in Clearwater.

Sometimes a Coast Guard C-130 flies low over my house as they prepare to land at St. Pete which is also a fairly big Coast Guard base.

Spooky quiet....kind of reminds me of the three days following 9/11.

Just heard on TV that FAA claim there have been no ATC disruptions, although claimed there have been ATC disruptions.

This is getting weird, so the faa is giving false excuses for the shutdown of Jacksonville ATC to cover for resistance to mandatory vaccines…or they did not call in sick?

Faa ATC are not allowed to strike so calling in sick is the only way to protest…even worse is the overt coverup of the true reason?

I do not know about ATC, but pilots can bank their sick days and cash out on retirement. I’m not sure if there is a set amount you can accumulate, but most pilots are sitting on months of sick time. MONTHS.
