It's about the taxes and regulations which the Commiefornia government has so thoroughly embraced. The same thing happened with Toyota, which also moved their US HQ to Texas; and Nissan moved their US HQ to Tennessee. Those two moves cost CA at least 20K jobs combined - probably a lot more considering local supporting companies.
