How old is the EARTH?

Everybody with a scientific background will tell you the idea of a 6000 years old earth is so ridiculous it's as much worth discussing as the flat earth model.


Do you know what sedimentation is? The continuous accumulation of layers. Meaning if we drill down through these layers, we can go back in time.

It's like the rings inside a tree. One ring = one year, as dictated by the alternance of cold and hot seasons.

Likewise, we can do the same with ice from the polar caps. That ice is from snowfall over the years, and we can literally see the past through it (small gas bubbles are locked in it, giving us a peek into the atmosphere of the past. And again, it's quite easy to see how many years in the past a sample takes us, as easy as counting the rings inside a tree.


The (currently) oldest ice sample we drilled from antartica is 800,000 years old.

And the entire history of the atmosphere it contains in its bubbles matches the current earth timeline accepted by science.



I watch young earth "scientists" and their "proofs" are always "duh we can't explain how this is, so it means it must have been created by God 6000 years ago like the bible claims".


Sorry that's not how science works. They pulled that figure out of their ass. If you start bringing me proof the earth is ACTUALLY 6000 years old (like all sediment layers stop after 6000 yearly cycles) then I could believe you. But so far, all that science is showing me is that sediment layers go back millions of years, giving us a nice look into the past of our planet
