Anonymous Coward User ID: 80969365 United States 10/13/2021 05:52 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Here is what is published on their website Quoting: Anonymous Coward 65571479 Section 5b gives the table… [link to www.bankofamerica.com (secure)] That is correct. Those limits change (at least according to the email I received and another poster received) on November 15, 2021. The other poster posted the new terms on page 1 of this thread and it has been posted many times within this thread. Some people are writing that you can use the secure transfer...but, what about when you receives, say, your paycheck or what about rent (assuming it is over $1,000.00), then do you need to use secure transfer? What a mess that will cause! As to the question of whether direct deposit is covered by this "edict" - from what I read YES direct deposit will be affected by this change. I posted a link (in this thread) that has what a financial company is saying - they are saying that direct deposit is an ACH and not an eCheck. This is why I have been saying for weeks now = THIS AIN'T ABOUT THE "RICH PAYING THEIR FAIR SHARE." The rich spend more than $600-1,000 on a dinner out one night! If it was really to stop some kind of fraud in regards to the rich, the limit would be at least TEN TIMES higher than $600! They're out to control how much of YOUR MONEY you have access at one time. I would definitely pull all money OUT of banks NOW. personally, I rarely even have more than $1,000 in a bank! You're the problem. You're ready to cut and run and leave the bank hanging. no wonder they're worried. |

That Table in Section 5(b) says these are the ACH and wire limits ===IF YOU DO NOT OPT INTO ANY SORT OF SECURITY PROCEDURE FOR THEM TO VERIFY THAT IT WAS YOU SENT THE WIRE/ACH===. Quoting: DirkDigglerOU812 It is right there in footnote #3 of that section. If you agree to get a callback or PIN from the bank on your wire transfers, the limit is (much) higher. Calm down. These low limits are for the "we do not know who you are and you have a new account" customers. link? Your Huckleberry |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 80907801 United States 10/13/2021 05:58 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Thank you GLP for bringing this to everyone's attention. I checked my email and I too have that same email. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 80907801 I was so worried about it that I went right up to the BOA near me right away. Nobody at the bank knew anything about it, so they had to call the Bank of America hotline which is answered by the same people that answer when a consumer calls. The lady on the other end had no idea either. She assured me that nothing changed but I argued with her...why did I receive an email if nothing changed? Finally, a business banker overheard the conversation and came to help. I think they didn't take me seriously at first because 99% of people coming in there are complaining about their overdraft fees on their 20 dollar accounts. It is, in fact changing to exactly what is written in the email. Here is what I was told. 1. It is CERTAINLY changing for remote wires. As in my business can no longer wire $5000 or more through the online banking. 2. It is CERTAINLY changing to where I can no longer call in a wire transfer over the phone, which I've never done, but this may apply to someone who reads this. 3. It MAY be changing to where you can't even send wires in person more than $5000 (or $1000 for personal accounts). They have not decided this. So, we MAY be able to go to BOA, wait in line behind 20 people whining about overdraft fees for 45 minutes, then fill out the wire transfer paperwork (as the cashier likely fumbles around because they ALWAYS have problems doing anything out of the ordinary). Then an hour later your wire is sent. This will NOT work for me, or most other business owners. If you are sending wires over $5000 dollars almost every day like I do, you really really don't have time to deal with this crap. Here's another thing...PAYROLL! Payroll is done by ACH, which is now limited to $5000 a day too. Let's say your employees are paid 15 dollars an hour. That's only 333 working hours, not considering tax withholdings. So any company using BOA that has more than a handful of employees can no longer process their payrolls. I do wonder what the actual end game is here. BOA will lose a ton of business over this. As a business owner I have absolutely no option but to move to another bank. THANK YOU!!! I knew the impact of this would be huge once I saw it.. I am one of those "dumb asses" who actually reads the changes to my terms of service. Thank you for checking this out. I am hundreds of miles away from my nearest bank branch, so, I could not go there and ask in person! You're welcome. The only thing I can see that gives some hope to this is... "Daily and monthly limits may also apply. You may be eligible for higher transaction limits if you add Secured Transfer to receive a one-time passcode on your mobile device or register a USB security key. Higher transaction limits may also apply for Bank of America Private Bank, Merrill or Small Business accounts." I know I do get the one time passcodes sent to me when I do wires. In fact to do a wire you need to do like 3 of them I think. This could really go either way because I did get a different story from every person at BOA that I talked to, plus the email says "may be eligible". I hope there is clarification on this very soon. My business does send wires over $5000 almost every day, payroll is more than that every week, plus the tax payments which are done ACH. I can't afford to wait until the 15th to just find out. What if the 15th rolls around and all the sudden we can't pay people? If you're in a similar boat as I am, I would suggest going ahead and opening an account at a different bank in preparation. Maybe put a few days of cash in there too. That way if the 15th comes around and you're essentially locked out of wires, you can write a check to the new account from your BOA account. You could also just go ahead and switch. I hate on BOA too and some of the larger banks, but you really can't beat, as a business owner especially, the convenience of being able to hop on the computer and wire money within a minute. I have had accounts at smaller banks, and many of my clients do too. The amount of time it takes to do a lot of stuff such as wires is so time consuming. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 75684896 you have to fill in the form gov.333-666, requesting permission to use your money (digits in your account). please allow up to 5 working days for a response. With the digital system everything will be instant. No waiting. That was one of the problems that allowed banks to hedge. They held customer's money and used it for their profit. No longer. Banks have to back up their loans with assets and everyone has to be accountable. |

I withdraw every paycheck every two weeks, been doing that since March of 2020 when all this covid started. But now, they are getting very suspicious. Takes about half hour to withdraw my money. They get two levels of supervisors to review my account, talk quietly about my drivers license, then ask me a whole slew of questions about where I live, where I work etc etc..... the manager said big changes are coming with digital currency........ even if you have everything you own hidden in your backyard buried underground, the money we currently possess is going digital........won’t be worth anything.... |
