We moved to E/NC on the coast 9 years ago .

A NYS native from Rochester NY . At 45 I took my kids < 3 > and wife to NC on $ 6,000.00 We sold all our shit , gave tons away and invested in ourselves .

It cost me 4g to prepare for travel / fixing a huge ambulance type dodge van 3500 High top with all of our tent / camp stuff - clothes - tools of the trades .

I was in a trailer within 10 days from a RV park and a 10 man tent .

Site unseen -I drove to Jacksonville NC for a base job which was abandoned by the Company who hired me literally the day I arrived for Gov. Drama . and change orders unpaid .

So , here we were -no family . Less than $ 5,000.00 in cash . # kids under 11 years old . In a tent site at an RV park off NC route 17 South .

9 years later i'm living in a 5 bedroom mansion < leasing it > We have been here almost 4 years in this home , in an HOA with a Pool house and private boat launch . Very secure and surrounded by heavily armed active duty USMC folk .

Kids avoided being turned into Wiggers and got educated pretty decently until covid came . We now home school 2 kids .

We rarely hear sirens . Life is quiet and good . LOTS OF GUNS ALL OVER THE REGION and freedom loving patriots everywhere .


I knew all this was coming to NYS 10 years ago and look at NYS now . Literally hell on Earth . BLM/ Antifa - Bail reform - early release - 2nd chance programs forviolent murderers and NO GUNS for NYS citizens . We're bad .



Now all our FAMILY is brain washed - Shot loving stooges - Biden boot licking possessed Demons .

The smart conservative ones are stranded there .

I guess you are fairly young. Because those of us with some age have lived long enough to see this country become a shithole.

When I was young parents let their kids play outside and didn't have to worry about them getting snatched by pedophiles and I grew up in Houston. You would be f-ing crazy to try that today as a parent.

When I was young you could easily buy a gallon of gas for under a dollar. A gallon of milk was under a gallon and a loaf of bread was under a dollar and it was all ORGANIC. Today you can easily triple the cost yet wages have not increased to compensate for it.

When I was young my parents could buy a house a good house for around 45k. Now today a good house is easily 10 times that cost. Yet I haven't seen wages increase 10 fold.

When I was young I could work at a fast food joint to pay for my college expenses. That is no longer possible.

Basically when I was young there was something that I could look forward to. Yet my children will not be able to look forward to shit when they get older.

This. I just moved to Maine from Washington state via north Carolina. Here there is:
Low crime, hearty people, more churches than bars, not in the south tourist zone, lower housing costs, masks what masks, everyone I mean everyone is looking for workers.
I have a friend paying 20-25 per hr for Craigslist day labor, pays daily, needs more experienced help, could probably room or help find a place in town nearby. His town in the central area is more expensive.
You can find liveable homes for 50k and under, metal roof,solid, 3 types of heat, gonna need money for heat or muscles to get wood, plenty of woods, cheP land, people speak French, looks like a postcard, the sleepy towns are quaint, friendly, 420, live and let live, the motto is Maine_the way life should be...this is slow simple country living, even in town.
I love this place,and am blessed to be here.
I put 10k down on a 50k house and my goal is to have it paid off in ten years.
I'm worried about heat costs on a fixed income,so I set my monthly payment low at first,so that's why 10 years.

I live in the one place left that's totally untouched and laughs at Biden every day, NW MS. Best place to be now through all this BS as the cost of living is so low, stores are fully stocked, jobs are plentiful, and neighbors let you be.

I'm glad nobody mentioned NH in this thread since it's one of the last places in the US that isn't a complete shithole. Moving there next year hopefully!

I have a few friends from here (Chicagoland) who moved there and love it.

Must live near Austin. I’m from Texas and currently live in Washington and lived in Oregon for a few years. These states are dumpster fires compared to Texas. Miss Texas compared to living out here.

Oregon and cali are the worst, awful places to live.
