Re: I need advice on an AR-15
Okay gun guys (and girls), I’m looking to get into an AR-15. Husband is an AK guy but he’s found an Armalite AR-15 LTC that weighs 6lbs unloaded. It has a 16” barrel. He said that was pretty much the lightest AR but that GLP was filled with gun knowledge people and see what someone here says.

Anyway, I’m looking for a lightweight AR that’s as short as possible without having to go through NFA tax stamp hassles. My price range is $900-$1200; $1200 being pretty much max.

I’m trying to get advice before I go to purchase because I’m sure they’ll think I’m just a dumb girl and they’ll try and sell me what they have instead of what I want: a short and light AR.

Adams Arms AR-15
Kamala Harris is not a Natural Born Citizen. She's illegally running.

Used by the Founders...
Book I of The Law of Nations, Chapter XIX, § 212 (Joseph Chitty numbering) – “Citizens and natives”
reads: 'The citizens are the members of the civil society; bound to this society by certain duties, and subject to
its authority, they equally participate in its advantages. The natives, or natural-born citizens, are those born in
the country, of parents who are citizens. As the society cannot exist and perpetuate itself otherwise than by
the children of the citizens
, those children naturally follow the condition of their fathers, and succeed to all
their rights.' 1758 Emerich de Vattel

Oh' What the Hell, do I look like I want to die in some nursing home one day...
America must have 4 new Constitutional Amendments...
1. Drug Tests and Mental Evaluations on all politicians and judges randomly five times per year.
2. Term Limits for Federal politicians and judges.
3. Mental and health standards for Supreme Court Justices and retirement age set.
4. A 'Star Chamber' of elected Natural Born Citizens (no attorney's) to ivestigate, try, and prosecute the politicians and government employee's as they see fit.

Mandatory death penalty by public hanging is the merciful sentence for pedos and their associates.

Democrats are a WMD, literally.

“Hello dumb girl can I interest you in a magic shooty stick” if a sales man starts off with this pitch turn around and walk out.

But in all seriousness any factory made ar15 over 900 is gonna be ok for the most part, building your own will always be the best bet. Due to the time constraints I have I decided to buy my wife a black rain ordinance ar15 for around 1500 then kit it out with a trijicon mro optic and surefire 1k lumen weapon light. My reasoning is she is already at a handicap in a bad situation so having a reliable and over kitted weapon in terms of reliability is the better option.

Waiting on my Gisselle trigger to come in for the last upgrade for her rifle.

Now here’s some things I highly recommend.

Trigger upgrade, on the cheap end a PSA polished trigger/ high end Gisselle

Lantac dragon muzzle brake,

Weapon light, low end olight/ high end surefire

Sling, make sure to get a sling remember Kyle rittenhouse? Had he not had a sling he would be dead right now. Magpul makes a great one that’s on most of my rifles.

Optic, there are many options but don’t spend less than 300 or you will be in a bad spot for any long term bad times use.

Mags- atleast 10 and a way to carry them. I personally have 3 on my vest and 2 on a thigh rig.

Upgrade the grip to a magpul miad grip. There’s a bottle in the grip that holds lube which is a godsend if your gun needs field stripping and your not near a gun cleaning kit.

I will catch flak for this one but a grip pod is my go to for foward grip, the bipod deployment is quick and flawless and having a foward grip with the ability to also have a bipod on demand is really nice.

Weight isn’t as big a deal as you think. Unlike the military you won’t be carrying 80 pounds of gear or walking 20 miles in a day.

Lastly practice practice practice. Shoot often and learn how to clear malfunctions.

Build a 10" AR pistol in 7.62x39.....Anderson lower with SB stock, and BCA upper (I prefer side-charging). About $600 total and you've got the firepower of an AK-47 at a bargain price. It has more firepower at 100 yards than 5.56 does at the muzzle. I love mine!!!!!

Best advice here, OP. Take it from this master gunsmith and disregard 99% of the BS "advice" others give.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 80400756

So you are quoting yourself as the best advice? I built one. It took for ever to get the mag to feed. Tried so many mags, not even funny. Mag is super long btw. I'll never sell it, but it's the one I take out the least.

C Products for AR platform don't jam in 7.62x39. Next time do some REAL RESEARCH before wasting money and then complaining about what a fool you were!!!
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 80400756

Oh, you're one of those that claim you found the golden mag. I have all the "one's that work" including C products. OP do your research on mags for 7.62x39 in an AR. You'll see, it's doable, but not as simple as poster is saying. Lots and lots of people have tried many mags. Just look on google and you'll see atleast 100 forum posts about it. Including all those that magically worked great with so and so mag, while others had no such luck.

Re: I need advice on an AR-15
Just remember to get all the gear you need for that lightweight rifle and consider that it being light weight might not hold all your gear.

Your gonna want to attach a forend grip, a rail, a laser in green, another laser in red, a red dot, a magnifier on a tilt mount, a long range side mount scope, and side pockets for your fishing gear and a knife. Lot of people forget that.
If your real serious get the stock that olds your tent.

You mean the magpul C.A.M.P stock? That things amazing and for only 30 caps a deployment you can have a full functioning camp site in only seconds. Sadly I could not afford that, the wasteland will have its way with me now.

You need an AR pistol, it will save you several lbs. If you have a chjoice, get the 556 or the 223 wyld so you can shoot anything. Let your hubby take care of long range.
