I am beginning to understand that statement OP and it is very true. I have had to learn ways of removing myself from situations and simply removing vamps from my life. It has actually been very fulfilling and uplifting.

Yes! They are extremely toxic and try so hard to push themselves and their needs off on others. They are nasty people for sure. Hmmm... How can we help them to be better? Like any addictive cycle , don't continue it. Cut the circuit , if your feeling drained do one or more of the things I mentioned above. Don't be a conduit. Eventually that negative energy feeds the most negative.
