Apparently the non-essential travel ban did not pertain to Chinese tourists. We went on a major road trip to visit national parks, etc. back in July and everywhere was overrun with Chinese nationals on vacation.
Also apparently there are tour companies that cater ONLY to visiting Chinese nationals. Their business was booming!

The hotel said it's the new Chinese money rich, they travel in large prearranged tour groups and they are the rudest travelers ever. They storm the food bars and decimate them like piranha in seconds. They don't make any eye contact with strangers or engage. Some seniors but mostly I'd say 30-45 and they definitely seemed like "new money"- every article they wore or carried brand spanking new and acted very entitled. Very rude, agree with you on that!
