You worship God in public so that all the other nerds see that you worship him

That way you bring them closer to God, lead by example

Gospel of John chapter 8:

'So they took away the stone. Then Jesus looked up and said, “Father, I thank you that you have heard me. 42 I knew that you always hear me, but I said this for the benefit of the people standing here, that they may believe that you sent me.”'

Same reason you should go to church every sunday, youre giving others an example they can follow, lifting them up, bringing them closer to God
