I think they were lying... I don't think the blue part is 50 miles anymore. His shock at how thin the atmosphere is, is a revelation I've never before heard before from anyone going into orbit. Are we losing our atmosphere (and magnetosphere)? Is all that stuff about not being able to breathe a possible hint? Pole flip... crustal displacement? I don't think it's about a meteor.
