Patients who have been in ICU with sepsis can have bad outcomes even after release from the hospital. It's quite common apparently. I think it is called post sepsis syndrome or something like that.

He's never going to be the same again even if he gets released. The death statistics are high even after release and he had the farking booster.

Generally speaking a healthy immune system will fight off infection before sepsis can set it.

A compromised immune system, or weakened immune system, will most likely not be able to fight off the infection and even with antibiotics sepsis can set in.
