I think this was announced as a training exercise. China loading tanks on a shallow water ferry... I could be wrong.

There was a post that a US and EU frigate may have pissed China off. With the above said, that type of "training is normal or at least it was for us" I guess the broadcasted to show readiness. It's called JLOTS on the U.S Army - joint logistics over the sea.
