It may not be anything "wrong" with you.

I am a delivery driver, I drive all day- the driving has gotten insanely bad these last few months. I see accidents on the daily.

The "panic" you are having may be the very understandable "panic" a person has realizing they are entering into a potentially lethal situation, like standing on the ledge of a cliff.

I understand how dangerous driving is, I figure this will probably be how i die, but the panic factor goes down significantly when you come to terms with death and realize it would be a blessed relief to how much TPTB have made life sucks now.

I'm an infrequent driver, but I agree with this. Driving should be incredibly dangerous and I am not sure why there are not more accidents. One second's inattention or a muscle twitch moving the steering wheel at the wrong moment, and you can wipe out several people including yourself, dead.

I'm a confident driver, but it's just because somehow the accident rate is low. Also I'm getting old, and by the grace of God I still have the skills to drive, but age can affect those things. We should be safer when we're all in self-driving cars, because computers are well suited to this type of task. People probably aren't.

Got the same issue. I hate leaving the house. I don't have advice, but I do have empathy. I'm sorry I can't help you.
Blessed are the meek. It's not a mousy weakness. It's a quiet resolve and strength.

If an empath, its likely youre subconsciously picking up on the extreme artificially of the construct of civilization and are no longer able to reconcile mentally the gigantic haze of collective cognitive dissonance that engulfs this construct

I thought I was the only one... As a former truck driver, I have driven millions of miles, driven is the most insane conditions and circumstances one can think of, and did a lot of things people just didn’t have the balls or skills to do. And now... I’m extremely nervous driving, to the point I just assume to stick around the house. Maybe it’s age or all the ghosts of all the bad things I’ve seen on the road haunting me... I don’t want to die on the road because some idiot is screwing around with their phone or some other nonsense. And I have a big trip coming up in a few weeks...yikes.

Another way to remedy this that does not involve confronting one's own mortality would be this-

Before driving, you must get into running/biking- for a half hour at least- enough to get you sweating and I would encourage you to push yourself, to get your heart beating hard in an exercise capacity, when you are under control. It will help you to keep control and composure when you are under anxiety provoking conditions of driving.
