We have a meat market here in town, and the only beef they sell comes from a large ranching operation in the area. I haven't bought there yet, but hear the meat is awesome. I'd rather buy local than the imported stuff... Need to call tomorrow and order some hamburger - they take your order, then wrap it according to how big you want your packages, and wrap it for freezing. And will deliver it out to your car. Not bad... TANSTAAFL - There Ain't No Such Thing As A Free Lunch |

He and his neighbors blamed it on consolidation in the beef industry stretching back to the 1970s that resulted in four companies slaughtering over 80% of the nation’s cattle, giving the processors more power to set prices while ranchers struggled to make a living.. . . Used by the Founders... Book I of The Law of Nations, Chapter XIX, § 212 (Joseph Chitty numbering) – “Citizens and natives” reads: 'The citizens are the members of the civil society; bound to this society by certain duties, and subject to its authority, they equally participate in its advantages. The natives, or natural-born citizens, are those born in the country, of parents who are citizens. As the society cannot exist and perpetuate itself otherwise than by the children of the citizens, those children naturally follow the condition of their fathers, and succeed to all their rights.' 1758 Emerich de Vattel Oh' What the Hell, do I look like I want to die in some nursing home one day... America must have 4 new Constitutional Amendments... 1. Drug Tests and Mental Evaluations on all politicians and judges randomly five times per year. 2. Term Limits for Federal politicians and judges. 3. Mental and health standards for Supreme Court Justices and retirement age set. 4. A 'Star Chamber' of elected Natural Born Citizens (no attorney's) to ivestigate, try, and prosecute the politicians and government employee's as they see fit. Quoting: troo Grass fed, grass finished from the local farm is the best. Better for your body and better for your soul. THIS!!! All my beef, pork, and chicken come from local ranchers and butchers. Such a huge difference with looks and taste and nutrition. That's one of the best lessons I've been taught from my Dad. He always used locally sourced meat and always cultivated good relationships with the ranchers and butchers. The one I work with now is the son of the butcher/rancher my father worked with. Everytime I purchase a 1/4 or 1/2 cow I bring him a bottle of his favorite bourbon (Blanton) and a Cohiba Cuban cigar and he always makes sure my cuts are perfection. If anyone reading this has the time, patience, and means to befriend a local butcher or rancher it's so worth it.
